We arrived in Damascus, Syria's lively capital, during our overland trip from Cairo to Istanbul. As soon as we arrived, I was instantly drawn to the city's vibrant souks and fascinating cultural heritage. After spending a few days exploring Damascus, we embarked on our journey towards Krak des Chevaliers. The drive through the beautiful countryside was scenic, passing through charming villages and rolling hills.
As I approached the castle, I was amazed by its impressive stone walls standing tall against the backdrop of the rugged mountains. Little did I realise that what I was about to see would leave an unforgettable impression on my memory.
