If you're a water sports enthusiast and dream of exploring the vibrant underwater world, the dry season from June to October is ideal. During this period, the crystal-clear waters provide excellent visibility for snorkelling and diving, allowing you to witness the incredible marine life up close. On the other hand, if you're seeking a more relaxed and crowd-free experience, consider the shoulder seasons of April-May or November-early December. During these months, you'll still enjoy pleasant weather, fewer tourists, and a serene atmosphere to soak in the island's natural beauty.

Fitzroy Island is just a 45-minute ferry ride from Cairns, making it incredibly accessible. The Fitzroy Island ferry service operates daily, and you can book your tickets in advance.

Ferry Options:  You have two ferry options to choose from:
Fitzroy Flyer: This is the most popular and efficient choice. It departs from the Cairns Reef Fleet Terminal and offers multiple daily departures, ensuring flexibility for your travel plans.
Fitzroy Fast Cat: Another excellent choice, it departs from Cairns and offers a comfortable ride with stunning views of the Coral Sea.

Getting Around Fitzroy Island: Once you arrive on Fitzroy Island, you'll find it relatively small, making it easy to explore by foot.
