Our adventure begins in Monterosso al Mare, the largest and most bustling of the five villages. As we stroll along the sandy beaches, we encounter the iconic sight of brightly painted fishing boats bobbing gently in the crystal-clear waters. Explore the narrow streets lined with boutique shops and trattorias, where you can indulge in delectable local seafood delicacies. Don't miss the chance to visit the medieval Church of San Giovanni Battista, which houses precious artworks and offers panoramic views of the village.
Next, we go to Vernazza, perhaps the most photogenic of all the Cinque Terre villages. As we approach, we are greeted by the sight of the village's medieval watchtower standing tall against the azure sky. Wandering through the charming streets, we encounter colourful houses stacked upon each other, adorned with blooming flowers. Make sure to climb the Doria Castle for sweeping views of the picturesque harbour and the rugged coastline.
Nestled atop a rocky promontory, Corniglia offers a unique charm. Unlike its sister villages, it lacks direct access to the sea, perched high above the waves. To reach Corniglia, we embark on a scenic hike through vineyards and terraced fields, rewarded with breathtaking coastline vistas. Explore the quiet streets and sample the locally produced wines, accompanied by delicious bruschetta, at one of the cozy enotecas.
As we continue our journey, we arrive in Manarola, renowned for its dramatic cliffside setting and the famous nativity scene, the "Presepe di Manarola." This vibrant village is a photographer's paradise, with iconic colourful houses tumbling down the steep hillside to the picturesque harbour. Capture the mesmerising sunset from the harbour's breakwater. Remember to try the local specialty, anchovies, freshly caught and marinated in olive oil.
Our final stop takes us to Riomaggiore, the southernmost village of Cinque Terre. As we descend the steep staircase to the marina, we are greeted by a lively atmosphere and the scent of freshly grilled seafood. Explore the narrow alleyways adorned with vibrant murals, and hike up to the Santuario di Nostra Signora di Montenero, a hilltop sanctuary offering sweeping views of the Ligurian Sea.

This unforgettable hike was a perfect blend of nature's beauty and the timeless allure of Italian coastal life.
